It was an interesting and packed two days at Intelligent Health Sept 13-14, 2023 in Basel! The conference brought together stakeholders across pharma, biotech, medtech, consulting, academia, health-tech organisations, and health care administration to exchange perspectives, insights, and examples in the digital transformation and AI-powered advancement of health and life sciences.
One consensus view was that, compared to a few years ago, this domain has progressed from trying to initiate conversations about how digitisation and data could vastly improve the efficiency, quality, and equity of drug discovery and health care provision. Today, across industries and health care, it is relatively broadly acknowledged that harnessing efficiency and quality gains through data usage and AI is the future, and it’s beginning now. The biggest challenges going forward are bridging the gap between having digital data and actually being able to use it, building trust among users and the public, and data compliance.
