The Intelligent Health Congress once again brought together stakeholders from industry, health services, academia, patient advocacy groups, government agencies, and non-profit organisations to share and discuss experiences applying digital technologies to advance the health and life sciences. Some of the recurrent themes and take-home messages included:
- Technology provides tools to achieve an end, but is not the end in itself
- The technology is only as useful as the value it generates
- As powerful as AI is becoming, its utility still (and increasingly) depends on the data quality, which remains a critical piece of the overall journey
- Data generation is vastly exceeding data usage
- Strategic planning and data management are critical in the data and analytics transformation (including but not limited to AI). Enlist expert help early to avoid sinking large time and monetary costs for minimal added value.
