The Basel Chamber of Commerce Life Sciences Cluster organised a tremendous forum hosted by Novartis in Basel on November 13, 2023 to discuss progress on collaborative initiatives to promote the digitisation and standardisation of health and medical data across Switzerland. All parties are in agreement that a standardised framework of documenting medical information is an important first step to facilitate exchange of data and its usage for improving healthcare delivery and research. There is, however, also general acceptance that this is not the complete solution. The ability to combine and analyse large amounts of medical, health, and other data to accelerate knowledge gain, enable personalised medicine, and develop efficient, sustainable, equitable healthcare delivery systems requires skillful integration and clean-up of intrinsically complex data. This is the lynchpin to a future of data-based decision making, and QuadraticMed is excited to be contributing to realising the vast promise of knowledge advancement through effective data usage.
